"A Stepper You Should Know" Honors Royce and Tina

When you walk into Club D'Elegance on Sunday nowadays, you are quickly reminded of the Millenium 2000 days, where Darrell Davis and Marguett Coleman packed the place for many years straight. Lady Margaret has done an awesome job bringing the club back to life, and DJ Eric "ET" Taylor, already a giant to those of us who have been around, is branding himself as one of the top DJ's with the new generation in the same way that Mellow Khris and DJ Raphael did at 3G's about 8 to 10 years earlier.
On this particular Sunday, Lady Margaret honored two Steppin' Heavy Hitters in Royce Banks and Tina Moore with her new monthly award called "A Stepper You Should Know." The idea is an ingenious way of highlighting Steppers who have been burning up the dance floor for some time, for the new generation of dancers who are just learning the ropes. You'll see some dancers walking around wearing T-Shirts with the slogan as well.
A number of folk where in the building for the affair, and while some might see Club D'Elegance as a new skool spot, old skoolers like Haywood, Don Vic, Donnie Davis, Rose Wellington, Marguett Coleman and many others came out to kick it. Most of the top dancers were in the building and DJ Marky G came out to debut a new track with webmaster Dan Land (steppersexpress.com) stopping in for a rare appearance to shoot some video.
I had a good time and was surprised at the lane etiquette the youngin's demonstrated on the floor. The floor was tight but everyone respected the space really well. If you're in town on a Sunday night, you definitely need to stop in for some REAL top notch Steppin'!

Nice Topic
TP, wassup Bro, this should be a nice topic for a while, giving love to some of the pioneers of the game. From one brotha to anotha, I've never been apprehensive about givin' love to peers or trailblazers who have a nice flow or style. I heard of Royce before I actually met him and I seen him on a DVD before we ever had a conversation. I really admire how graceful the "big fella" is and how light he is on his feet, I gotta give it up. Royce is a brotha with his own flow and swag, I really appreciate that about him. Tina I met her once through Monique, who I'll always appreciate for introducing me to most of the Heavy Hittin' females and made sure I danced with them when I first had enough skill to grace the wood. I've never really seen her get down, but I heard she has very unique and sweet footwork......maybe I'll get a "7,8" in with her soon............
A Stepper You Should Know.....
Hey ya'll I to appreciate this article. This website keeps the new steppers informed and the old skoolers abreast of what's going on. This is a much needed article and the premise is in touch with what the world needs right now in regards to appreciation and gratitude. The words I appreciate you are not heard enough. Our lives get busy and no one takes the time to say "I see you and I validate you and I love or like what you do." It looks as if Lady Margaret has taken a moment to say just that. So, in her honoring them, I loved the way you honored her. Nice brief piece.
